Writing Tracker for Scrivener ("the App") is developed and maintained by Markus Bitner ("we," "our," or "us").
This app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Scrivener or its developer, Literature & Latte Ltd.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally

• The App tracks and stores your writing data (such as word counts, project statistics, and progress history) locally on your device.
• The App may Scrivener project files to calculate writing statistics, but it never modifies or overwrites them.
• The App requires no Scrivener login or authentication.

1.2 Optional Cloud Access

• If you grant permission, the App may access Scrivener projects stored in your personal cloud storage (such as iCloud, Dropbox, or similar).
• All such access is read-only and occurs through services you control.

1.3 Future Data Collection (Planned Features)

In future versions, we may:

• Collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the App.
• Offer optional account registration using your email address.

Any such collection will be clearly disclosed within the App, and you will have the option to opt in or out where applicable.

2. How We Use Your Information

If email collection is implemented, we may use your email address to:

• Provide support or respond to inquiries.
• Send important updates about the App.

We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

• Writing statistics and settings stored locally remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
• If we collect emails or other personal data in the future, you will have the right to request deletion by contacting us at markus@apps.markusbitner.com.

4. Third-Party Services

Currently, the App does not use third-party analytics or advertising networks.
If third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated, and we will comply with applicable laws regarding notice and consent.

We use reasonable technical measures to protect data stored on your device and, if applicable, data you provide to us. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
